Sami Yusuf

Dikutip dari wikipedia:
Sami Yusuf (born July 1980) is a British Muslim singer-songwriter, Yusuf's music comprises mostly of songs to do with Islam and being a Muslim in today's world. He also deals with many social and humanitarian issues in his music. Presently, he is fast becoming a very popular figure in the Islamic world, having made videos for several of his tracks; according to The Guardian, he "has good claim to being the most famous British Muslim in the world". In 2006 Time Magazine called him "Islam's biggest rock star".

Tadi pas ke PI Mall mau mencari sesuatu, kaki iseng masuk ke salah satu toko CD. Mata lantas terbentur pada CD Sami Yusuf, ada 3 buah, masing-masing harganya 30 ribu! Penasaran, minta mbaknya mutar salah satu CDnya, hmmm suaranya bening banget .... bungkus deh, bungkus ... :D

Denger sore ini, subhanalloh. Suaranya lembut sekaligus berat, bersih, menyentuh, kadang seperti merajuk tanpa kesan manja, lengkap dengan nuansa ketegasan. Nada-nada mengalur, mengalun, terasa tulus, sederhana. Musiknya sendiri melodis, menyentuh, cukup sering ada nuansa padang pasir ... bikin serasa sedang di cafe padang pasir kelas atas ... emang ada ya? Hehehe ...

Apalagi suara beliau ... :)

Jadi ... perlu dibeli ga? Perlu dan baik untuk pancaindera ... :)

My Ummah

My ummah, my ummah
He will say
Rasulullah on that day
Even though we've strayed from him and his way

My brothers, my sisters, in Islam
Let's struggle, work, and pray
If we are to
Bring back the glory of his way

CHORUS:
Ya Allah ya rabbal 'alamin
Ya rahmanu ya rahim
Ya rabbi
O Allah Lord of the Worlds
O Merciful and Beneficent
O my Lord

Let the Ummah rise again
Let us see daylight again
Once again

Let's become whole again
Proud again
Cause I swear with firm belief in our hearts
We can bring back the glory of our past

My ummah, my ummah
He will say
Rasulullah on that day
Even though we strayed from him and his way

Look at where we were
And look at where we are
And tell me
Is this how he'd want it to be?
Oh no! Let us bring back our glory

CHORUS
